Finance jobs salary
While international financial markets may be struggling, jobs on Wall Street have been fairly steady. In June, more than 14, 000 jobs in New York's financial services industry were posted online. Although it is a slight decline from May's 4-year record high, this still represents a 1.2% increase over hiring demand during June of 2011. We thought it might be interesting to look at 3 things that Recruiters and hiring managers should know about recruiting on Wall Street.
Think traders are in demand?
Contrary to what you may think about Wall Street, brokers, traders, and financial analysts are not the most commonly advertised jobs. Instead, the most commonly advertised job title in the financial services industry in New York is Tellers. Personal Banker and Sales Service Specialists were second and third. With Commercial Banking accounting for about 42% of all jobs on Wall Street, it's not too surprising that most of the jobs are for banking careers.
Here are the top 5 job titles being advertised on Wall Street:
- Teller
- Personal Banker
- Sales Service Specialist
- Teller I
- Branch Manager
New York may have the highest demand for financial services jobs, but they are still easier than average to fill.

I was in your position
All through undergrad I was interested in fairly theoretical topics, mostly in the realm of operator algebras and geometry. So I didn't take many "useful" classes like numerical analysis or statistics.
I started grad school thinking about entering academia, but after a few years I realized it wasn't for me. In particular, the scope of the research problems were too narrow for me to really...ol on their dime.
Let me know if you want more info on that.
Some of my grad school friends have also stepped off the academia track. A handful have gotten programming jobs at places like Google and VMWare. One guy went to work for the EPA doing something only vaguely mathematical. A couple guys went to work on Wall Street. One guy is in Boston doing something that's roughly finance.
FWD to me.
I agree with this man's sentiment
Military Pay
This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' editorial piece in the Washington Times about MILITARY PAY, it should be
printed in all newspapers across America
Ms. Cindy Williams wrote a piece for the Washington Times, denouncing the pay raise(s) coming service members' way this year citing that she stated 13% wage increa...e families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN ; I leave the choice of service branch up to you. Whatever choice you make, though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience."
No, I can't find a job anywhere
At this juncture, it is hopeless to find work in this field of accounting or finance. This is why I am filing bankruptcy.
I am either underqualified or overqualified or something happens to kill any prospect of getting an offer -- I act 'too nervous' in the interview, too technical, isn't a fit, etc..
I am miles behind my friends in terms of experience and job offers. All of them hav...assignement or opportunity to make real 'accomplishments' as recruiters want you have.
I wish I could find a job anywhere. I have applied to hundreds of company's, over 50 temp agencies, retail jobs, and nothing.
I am 29, have over eight years experience, and BA in Accounting, MS in Finance.
I don't care about salary just want to get out of the house and start working again.
Is this spam or are you just stupid?
None of those "at home jobs", "at home businesses" are legit. They get paid by recruiting YOU. At least you have $10,000 so let's get serious.
You clearly don't have a skill set that you can do on your own or you'd take that $10,000 and set yourself up with a small office to host your law firm, web design company, whatever. So we can cancel all of that out.
All this leaves is either ...LE time span just by saving your $40,000 salary. That is a complete falsehood. There's only 3 million LEGIT millionaires in all of the United States for a reason. If you count primary residences this figure jumps to 9 million but technically they aren't millionaires. They don't have $1 million in cash and their net worth is usually around 1.1 million. Oh and by the way, they're all 60 years old.
